Executive Summary

Andrea M. Keiser, Esq. is the managing partner of Keiser Legal, PLLC, a firm specializing in the advice and representation of property owners and real estate developers in land use and zoning matters before local municipalities as well as state and federal agencies.

 

Prior to founding Keiser Legal, PLLC, Andrea practiced with Dunay, Miskel and Backman, LLP (DMB), a law firm with over 3 decades of experience in all aspects of land development.  In this role, she represented and collaborated on matters involving due diligence, zoning interpretations, zoning confirmations, code enforcement, entitlements, code/text amendments, future land use map amendments, rezonings, master plan amendments, major planned development amendments, concurrency requirements, developments of regional impact (DRI), environmental issues, historic preservation, site plan approvals, administrative revisions to site plans, conditional use approvals, special exceptions, variances, waivers, permitting of marine structures, parcel splits, easement vacations, abandonments, release of reservations, signage, platting, statutory extensions, community outreach, legislative tracking, and more.  At DMB, Andrea collaborated on notable projects throughout southeast Florida, including Wawa, Aldi, Midtown Delray, iPic, Keiser University's Flagship Football Field and Athletic Facility, Metropica, Cobblestone Plaza, Target, FPL Fibernet, Aishel House, Twin Peaks, and Wendy’s.

 

Prior to joining DMB, Andrea was the Supervising Attorney for the Mission United Veterans Pro Bono Project (VPBP) for the United Way of Broward County in partnership with Legal Aid Service of Broward County.  In this capacity, she represented veterans in over 14 different civil/administrative/military legal and litigation matters and was a project manager for veteran community initiatives and legislative/public policy matters.  Under her leadership, VPBP won the NBC Foundation’s 21st Century Solution Grant Challenge and the IACP Access to Collaboration Grant.  Andrea served over 1,500 veterans and their families. Andrea has presented and spoken on various veteran legal topics such as USERRA and military divorce at the Florida Bar Conferences in 2014 and 2015.  She was also the co-founder of the Collaborative Divorce Clinic for Veterans.

 

Prior to joining VPBP, Andrea was the Resident Attorney/Public and Legislative Affairs Specialist at Southeastern College.  In this role, she managed public relations and student services projects.  She also fundraised, lobbied, and advocated for student needs both locally and federally. Her other work experience includes Warner Music Group, the Trump Organization, and Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP

 

Andrea has been invited to speak on various legal topics at St. Louis University Law School, Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center, and St. Thomas University’s Law School.  She was also a guest speaker for the Tower Club Professional Women Speaker Series.

 

Andrea obtained her Bachelors in Science from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business and both her Juris Doctorate and Masters in Business Administration (Magna Cum Laude) from Nova Southeastern University.  She is admitted to practice in the state of Florida.  She is also a graduate of the Leadership Broward Class XXXI and recipient of the 2011-2012 Leadership and Transition Event Awards at Keiser University.  In high school, Andrea was the 2000-2001 National Bluekey Champion in Lincoln-Douglas Debate.  In her spare time, Andrea served as the Treasurer for the Parks Foundation of Broward County and as a member of various legal and young professional organizations throughout South Florida.
